Festival of Latin American Culture to be held in Minsk

The first festival of Latin American culture will be held in Minsk on October 13-22. 

The Art Gallery "University of Culture" will become the main venue of the festival. There will be an exhibition "The Palette of Latin American Colors." Works of art by the most prominent artists of Ecuador and Cuba, as well as photographs and traditional crafts of Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua will be on display. Visitors will be able to get familiar with the cultural heritage of Latin American nations, learn about their history, diverse traditions and features of life. The exhibition will also present the best works of the contest "Poetry through Drawing", which was held among the students of educational institutions of Minsk.

During the exhibition, lectures on traditional holidays of Nicaragua and Venezuela, dance master-classes on bachata, salsa, mambo, cha-cha-cha; tastings of traditional Venezuelan and Dominican food, as well as poetry parties and cooking master-class will take place. The National Film Studio "Belarusfilm" will present  Latin American feature and documentary films from Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The program includes films of different genres: romantic comedies, historical and documentary films about outstanding personalities and traditions of the indigenous peoples.

Festival visitors will be able to learn more about Latin America. The countries are a unique synthesis of different cultures and nationalities, traditions and modernity. Latin America is a riot of colors, a feast of color, sound and art.
