Alexander Lukashenko talked about the role of parliamentarians with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Medjlis.

The principled position of the Belarusian side: the parliamentary dimension in the Commonwealth and other integration structures needs to be strengthened. In general, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly expects more activity and concrete proposals, because this is an important platform for dialogue.

The delegation of the deputies of Azerbaijan was in Belarus since Tuesday. Negotiations were held in the government and with the leadership of the National Assembly. The guests visited industrial enterprises such as Minsk Tractor Plant.

The Head of State talked about the future of Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations at the meeting with the defense minister of this country, Colonel-General Zakir Gasanov. The conversation on bilateral cooperation went well beyond the military-technical sphere. The positions of the countries coincide in many respects. Azerbaijan is an important trade partner of Belarus in Transcaucasia.

Regular meetings of leaders contribute to the intensification of economic cooperation. A positive example of industrial cooperation is the Ganja Automobile Plant. Almost ten thousand tractors and about four thousand trucks were produced there. Now 58 resident companies with Azerbaijani capital work in our country. In its turn, Belarus has about 70 representative offices in this country.
