A special ceremony was held on Friday at the Memorial Church in Honour of All Saints in Minsk. The Prayer for Belarus united thousands of people, including ministers, businessmen, diplomats and the representatives of various religious denominations. The ceremony was attended by the President accompanied by his three sons. Together, the attendees prayed for those who had given their lives for the Great Victory to present future generations with independence.
Seven capsules with the soil from the burial sites of Belarusian soldiers who died far from their homeland were laid in the Church’s crypt. The mass grave soil was brought to Belarus by the Orthodox clergy, military and historians.
