Chinese journalists visit Belarus

6 мая 2018

Three dozen journalists came to Belarus for a press tour, visited our "branded" enterprises, historical sites, and met with representatives of the authorities. The Chinese have a special interest for us. This is the second press tour in the history of our partnership. Representatives of the major news agencies, newspapers, radio and television channels with a total audience coverage of several billion people.

Almost immediately representatives of the Chinese media had an opportunity to travel through all of Belarus, to see where the Great Patriotic War began, to hear about the heroism of the defenders of the Brest Fortress, a place that will not leave anyone indifferent.

A peaceful and prosperous present is something that is appreciated in Belarus today. And proudly show it to the guests.

And in a few days thousands of Chinese people will be able to taste modern recipes of sweets made in Belarus. The novelties will be presented at the Shanghai exhibition. By the way, Moscow confectioners export their products to China since 2015. The opening of new innovative production facilities, the prospects for the development of the Great Stone industrial park, the increase in exports of our goods to the Middle Kingdom were the issues that Chinese media representatives touched upon during the meeting with the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich. The dynamics of our cooperation is based on the common principles of domestic and foreign policy. In June, the President of Belarus is scheduled to visit China to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. A summit meeting with the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, is also being worked out.

Journalism as people's diplomacy plays on the development and rapprochement of countries. Press tour around the cities of Belarus not only promotes familiarity with our country, but also promotes the export of tourist potential. Moreover, Belarus and China are planning to sign an agreement on the mutual abolition of the visa regime for a period of 30 days. The entry into force of this document will be the main result of the Year of Tourism of Belarus in the Republic of China. Only last year Belarus was visited by over three and a half thousand tourists from the Middle Kingdom. The countries work on the creation of a joint venture, the main activity of which will be tourism.

And in a couple of days, the best examples of Chinese painting will be presented in the National Art Museum.
