By Olga Maslovskaya: Implementation of labor legislation is controlled in Belarus by state bodies. But there is another effective mechanism - public control carried out by trade unions. Legal inspectors help deal with problems and defend legal rights of workers. Only in the first half of the year trade union lawyers found 21 thousand violations of labor legislation. Now trade unions will work jointly with the prosecutor's supervision.
This week, two agencies agreed on cooperation and signed an agreement.
The parties have already agreed on joint reception of citizens. As practice shows, every fourth appeal for violation of labor rights is justified. Experts will exchange accumulated information. The best ideas will form the basis for possible changes in labor legislation.
