The Canadian team, who have previously won the Olympic Games in Vancouver and Sochi, beat Germany, Austria, Sweden and the Czech Republic in the group round.
For the second year in a row Belarus has ended up in the 7th place. A tournament for the PyeongChang Olympics will be played in Belarus; the IIHF World U18 Championship Division I will be held at Chizhovka Arena. In 5-6 years the country will again be able apply for the World Championships.
