Relations of Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Region are main official topic for second day

A representative delegation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region headed by Valery Shantsev is on an official visit to Belarus. After a meeting and arrangements with President Alexander Lukashenko, business circles discussed cooperation today.

A representative office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region opened in 2002 in Minsk, and a division of the Belarusian Embassy opened in Nizhny Novgorod.  In a year the Russian region signed a cooperation agreement.  The Council of Business Cooperation of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod Region set to work in 2005.


Now Minsk hosts the 11th meeting of the Council of Business Cooperation of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod Region. After considering the results of 2012 Belarus is in the three of main trade partners of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The economies of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod Region successfully complement each other, having well-balanced trade and close industrial cooperation. JV Mogilevliftmash works in the Russian region, GAZ cars are assembled in Minsk, PAZ buses are assembled in Borisov.

For the last year the commodity turnover added by 15%, almost 800 million dollars. Belarus is ready to participate in industrial, agrarian and infrastructure programs of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Rural areas became another talking point. Belarusian equipment and experience of agricultural development are demanded in the Nizhny Novgorod Region .
