Belarus to grant greater freedom to business

19 сентября 2017

By Natalia Breus: More freedom will be given to business in Belarus. However, there should be a balance in terms of liability for violations. This is the main topic of today's meetings of the President with the head of the Ministry of Economy and the director of the National Center for Legislation and Legal Studies. Alexander Lukashenko supported the initiatives of the government on emancipation of the business initiative. The work on a liberal package of documents for business continues. The main thing is that the norms should be effective and understandable for people.

Before 1 October, the government should have a full package of documents on the development of entrepreneurship. This will improve the business climate and raise employment.

Today, important steps are being taken to unleash the business initiative.

The owners of agroecotourism facilities will be able to provide a number of additional services, for example, to conduct weddings and banquets. The Ministry of Economy counts on the influx of entrepreneurs not only in agro-tourism, but also among craftsmen due to greater freedom in the sale of their products.

The role of the Council for the Development of Entrepreneurship will be strengthened. It will be able to participate in the development of business documents and directly introduce legislative proposals to the Council of Ministers.

The President has reviewed administrative adjustments at a meeting with the director of the National Center for Legislation and Legal Studies. There is an intention to reduce fines and reduce the use of confiscation. The President was instructed to create the most comfortable conditions for business people.

Next week, the government will submit proposals on licensing issues. And only after that the package of documents on simplification of the conduct of business can be considered complete.
