Belarus raises customs duties on shampoos from the U.S., U.K. and some other countries

On January 12, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree № 16 "On the temporary establishment of import customs duties rates," reported in the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document sets increased rates of import duties (35% of the customs value) on shampoos, hair products and toothbrushes, originating in the countries of the Anglo-Saxon group (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) until June 30 inclusive.

The decree aims to protect the economic interests of Belarus and creates conditions for the replacement of the relevant imports with goods produced in the EAEU.
