Next year, MTZ will begin the production of tractors with engines of the fifth, highest environmental degree. The contract for a new large supply of Caterpillar components was signed today by the heads of MTZ and the German supplier. For many years Zeppelin Power Systems has been supplying engines for the locomotives of the Belarusian Railway, as well as equipment for the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant and Gazprom Transgaz Belarus.
The new environmental standard Stage V will be introduced in European countries in the next two years. It is much stricter than current environmental standards and is aimed at limiting emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
