Stability of work, plans for modernization and import substitution discussed by President during his visit to Minsk Tractor Plant

The stability of one of the largest plants in the country, plans for modernization and import substitution became central topics during the President’s visit to Minsk Tractor Plant.

The President was interested in new products from the motor plant, Borisov BATE and Belshina, Bobruiskagromash, which replace the foreign imports with the national producers. The holding company is coping with difficult conditions of high competition and closed borders, but the staff wasn’t reduced, and new vacancies were opened. There is also a large strategy for 10 years. It provides for the construction of another plant. Alexander Lukashenko noted that this experience is an example of the whole strategy of the Belarusian industry, which doesn’t contribute to inflation, but to giving people new workplaces. The plant calmly goes through the pandemic with good medicine and social package for the working people. 
Many manufacturers are asking the state to support them with working capital, so as not to slow down the production rate. The Head of the State supported the appeal on the condition of future export repayment. Another form of assistance will be a state order of the best quality products. The leader’s position on the sale of the state property was also voiced. 
There were questions about the fight against coronavirus and the ongoing political campaign. The President was asked about personal tractors and the future situation of the plant and the country after the pandemic.
