It is necessary to intensively and effectively develop deposits, extract and process minerals in Belarus. This task was set by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on March 12 at the meeting on the state and development of the mineral resource base of the country, as well as on the expansion of geological exploration, BelTA reports.

The President drew attention to the fact that all minerals are the national treasure of the country, a strategic reserve, belonging to the people and only to the people. We are talking about potash, oil, fresh water (an invaluable resource on the planet lately), and much more.

"What we have, we need to manage it competently and in an economic manner. The government always puts the issues of intensive development of deposits, efficiency and rational use at the top of the list. As well as the introduction of the most advanced technologies of extraction and processing," the President emphasized.

"The state always puts the issues of intensive development of deposits, efficiency and rational use, as well as introduction of the most advanced technologies of extraction, processing and, especially in our conditions, search for new minerals at the top of the agenda," the President emphasized.

The state of the mineral resource base and its further development was already discussed at a similar meeting eight years ago, Alexander Lukashenko reminded. The instructions were also given when Andrei Khudyk was appointed Minister of Mineral Resources.
