The Presidium of the Council of Ministers discussed today the measures to stabilize the position of companies in these industries. Last year, according to Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov, cement plants received state support, but the situation remains difficult. The demand in the domestic market has subsided. The volume of consumption of the previous year is 120 000 tons. The situation on foreign markets played a negative role as well.
The volume of cement exports will remain this year at the level of the previous year, the profitability will be no more than 2-3 per cent. It is necessary to reduce production costs in the cement industry, primarily due to the transition to local fuels. The ways of reducing production costs are being discussed for the glass industry as well.
