Poland intends to develop investment cooperation with Belarus

This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Guryanov after the meeting of the Belarusian-Polish working group on trade and investment. The cooperation of the two countries on the WTO, credit and investment support and interaction of the authorized organizations and banking institutions were touched upon during the meeting. Also today the Belarusian-Polish economic forum opens, and will be attended by representatives of business circles of the two countries.


Alexander Guryanov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus: Once again I remind you that today we host in Belarus more than 30 representatives of Polish state authorities, business circles, specialized organizations. We feel that it is time to talk more specifically about how we can expand beneficial cooperation for both sides.


Poland is among the five largest investors in Belarus. Over the last year almost $200 million of direct foreign investment was assimilated. One of the recent successful projects implemented with participation of a Polish investor, is the construction of the second building of Victoria hotel in Minsk.
