Integration, Eurasian brands and equal business conditions discussed in Kyrgyzstan

25 августа 2022
In the face of worsening geopolitical tensions in the world, it is important to maintain the stability of economies and strengthen cooperation within the EAEU. The Eurasian integration is being talked about these days in Kyrgyzstan. Cholpon-Ata hosts an intergovernmental council. Belarus has always advocated industrial cooperation, which connects ideas, technologies and resources of all countries.

The decisions to be made directly relate to the development of the economy of each country. And they will help to withstand external pressure. That is the spirit with which the Belarusians have come to the intergovernmental council.

Even before the dialogue between the governments, they discussed integration with the President of Kyrgyzstan. The country is now chairing all the bodies of the Union. And it sets the pace for the common cause, in which internal development of cooperation and trade is more important than ever. The  sanctions have turned many export flows of Belarus and Russia precisely to the East. To be stronger together, we need equal conditions for businesses of all countries, domestic technologies and goods.Roman Golovchenko drew attention to the initiative of Belarus on the pilot cooperative project "Eurasian electric bus".

The issue of levying indirect taxes on e-commerce also remains open. It is going hard. And so far, no consensus has been reached. The main innovation is the payment of VAT at the destination of goods, where the final buyer is.

Minsk and Baku are ready for new projects

The Eurasian forums are also a platform for bilateral meetings. This time the Intergovernmental Council was attended by the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, the guest of honor of the Union, and a trade partner of each of the EAEU countries. In May, Minsk and Baku, during the visit of a government delegation, identified a pool of joint projects, from the assembly of machinery to the supply of fruits and vegetables. Today it is time to talk about what has been done.

Negotiations between Minsk and Moscow are in permanent dialogue mode. The Union vector and 28 programs move integration forward, and the mutual trade for the half year increased by more than 12 percent compared to the same period last year. And that's over $2 billion. This confirms, the two governments are adept at finding solutions in the current extreme conditions.

The West is now increasing sanctions pressure on Belarus and Russia, Mikhail Mishustin pointed out. "Unfriendly states aim to cut us off from the logistics chains and the international financial system, paralyze production ties and, ultimately, worsen the quality of life of our citizens."
