New milestone of cooperation between Minsk and Ankara reached

17 апреля 2019
The official relations of Minsk and Ankara are reaching a new level of partnership: from economy and trade to joint projects in education, science and tourism. The dialogue between the leaders of Belarus and Turkey, which took place yesterday, has already been called truly full-fledged, because not a single issue was left without attention, including the question of removing trade duties on the importation of our goods into the Turkish market. This could be a good incentive for the convergence of our economies and the achievement of a new goal, voiced by Alexander Lukashenko and Recep Tayyip Erdogan - to increase the trade turnover to five billion dollars within 5 years. It is necessary to move from simple sales schemes to a more complex form of cooperation. We are talking about closer contacts between universities, research centers, and in general between our peoples.

During the business forum held in Ankara, contracts worth $ 325 million were signed. In the coming months a large contract for the supply of BelAZ trucks is expected to be signed.

Last academic year, 178 Turkish citizens received higher education in our country. IT, international relations, translator and economist specialties are chosen most often.

The parties agreed to exchange students and teachers more actively, to use new technologies in education, and to work to ensure that documents and degrees are recognized equally in both states.

The current negotiations and revision of all joint projects have allowed us to look more confidently into the future of bilateral relations. On the eve, the Presidents have repeatedly stressed that there are no closed topics between our countries, and therefore all issues can be solved, and the most seemingly incredible projects are realizable.
