By Alexei Adashkin: Almost 18 million dollars have been allocated to carry out the next modernisation stage at the legendary BelAZ plant in Zhodino, one of Belarus’ main brands and industrial giants with export geography covering 72 countries. The new production building is equipped with modern equipment that allows painting giant dump trucks with the carrying capacity of up 450 tons.
At the same time, another mechanical engineering giant Amkodor has officially released its 1000th skid-steer loader. Amkodor produces more than 120 types of machinery. Its plans include the expansion of the product range by 50 machinery types by 2020. Over the past five years, the holding has invested more than 150 million dollars in production development.
More than 700 equipment units along with the new model will be delivered today to Bangladesh, where Amkodor has opened a joint venture. The first contract is worth 50 million dollars.
Mechanical engineering is one of the main driving forces of Belarus’ industry, comprising of more than 270 organisations with over 170,000 employees. Since the beginning of this year, the companies have generated an output of over 3 billion dollars.
