President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko set a task to curb the inflation next year, which should be not more than 7-8%. He stated this at a meeting with the economic bloc of the government, BelTA informs.

"I expect effective proposals from the government and National Bank to restrain inflation," said Alexander Lukashenko. - "The task is to return to the level of inflation of 7-8% next year."

However, there are objective factors affecting the growth of prices. The President notes that the thoughtless imposition of sanctions by Western countries has disrupted the usual pattern of world trade. As a result, multi-year anti-inflation records are recorded all over the world. "That is, rising prices, inflation is not an invention of Belarus. The whole world is crazy about this inflation," said Alexander Lukashenko and gave some examples. The growth of food prices in the U.S. has become the most significant since 1979. The European Union set a record for the entire period of the single European currency (January 1, 1999). In Estonia the annual inflation exceeds 25%, in Latvia and Lithuania it’s over 20%. "We'll see how much more is to come," added the Belarusian leader.
