President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called ensuring the quality of products and proper service a key issue. He said this at the meeting on the state and tasks of industry development, BelTA reports.
"In the Year of Quality (and always) the manufactured products should be at the highest level. And in no other way. This is not a whim, but a severe necessity of life. It is a question of the future of the country and the people. Our products should be of high quality by all characteristics and parameters," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
Alexander Lukashenko cited the example that today it's very difficult to compete with Chinese manufacturers on price.
"So, we should take exceptional quality of products and provide the service necessary for the consumer," he said. - We have to reach approximately the Japanese level of quality. The task is to gain a foothold and increase market share. And if we mindlessly chase the minimum price, we will lose not only the quality of final products, but also the production of our own component base.
The head of state called the facts reported by specialists unacceptable, especially cases when new equipment fails before it is put into operation. Shortcomings have also been identified in the organization of service maintenance.
