CIS to proiritise cooperation in communication and information technologies

Today, at the meeting of the Board of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications, Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Zharko has announced that the CIS member states will prioritise cooperation in communication and information technologies. Over the last 25 years, the CIS has made a significant progress in developing communications networks and introducing IT into all spheres of the national economies and government systems.

Vasily Zharko also added that one of the priorities of the CIS is building the information society and integrating further into the world communications system. In this regard, it is important to work together with such UN agencies as the International Telecommunication Union and the Universal Postal Union.

The Deputy Prime Minister also stressed that the recent meeting in Minsk will contribute significantly in the creation of the information society and will facilitate international integration.
