Inflation in Belarus in 2023 to amount to 5.5% - Snopkov

According to government estimates, the inflation in Belarus in 2023 will amount to about 5.5%. This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov at the meeting of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on improving the system of regulation of pricing and price control, BelTA reports.

Currently, the government notes a moderate price rise for most goods. If we talk about the items, tracked by Belstat, 70% of goods prices are growing within 4%. If we take this figure together with the goods, the prices of which are regulated by the state, the growth is 2.7%. At the same time, most goods are traditionally cheaper in Belarus than in Russia, said Nikolai Snopkov.

"Over 19 days of December, prices rose by 0.5%. It's mainly a seasonal rise in prices of vegetables and imported fruit," said First Deputy Prime Minister. - In general for the year, inflation is estimated at 5.4% - 5.6%.
