In the context of economic security, the future of the entire region was discussed today at the meeting of Alexander Lukashenko with Mikhail Rusy, aide to the President for Mogilev Region, and the Governor of this region, Leonid Zayats.

The President repeatedly criticized the region for its weak performance, and in the beginning of the year he replaced the governor. Former Minister of Agriculture Leonid Zayats was sent to raise the region. Mikhail Rusy, former vice-premier, who previously supervised the agricultural sector in the government, became an assistant to the President in the region.

The tasks are clear: to raise the economy, increase exports, attract investment.

There are positive changes in the region: exports increased, investment is on a rise.

The region also has a separate program for the development of production for 5 years. The real sector of Mogilev Region's economy should take a serious step forward in the coming year. The main indicator is salary growth.

Mogilev Forestry Department started to modernize the sawmill production, and the exports to Europe and China are already growing.

Leonid Zayats, Governor of Mogilev Region: "All normative legal documents have been prepared, and the parameters and tasks to be implemented in this region by 2025 have been defined. It is planned to build new production facilities, expand the existing enterprises, increase the production of crop and livestock, ensure the welfare growth of the inhabitants of these areas."
