Belarus has announced about preferences for electric car owners,  and the President signed the  corresponding decree today. The world best practices are being implemented to encourage a shift to a greener mode of transport. In particular, the road toll will be lifted and  parking will be  free until January 1, 2026. The import duty will be annuled. This applies to individuals who bring an electric car into the country for personal use. The document also regulates the allocation of land plots for the construction of charging complexes, their exemption from VAT.

Evgeny Grachev, head of the legal department of the Avtobiznes internet portal: "The value-added tax rate will be zero. And those who have already become owners of an electric car will be able to refund this tax up to 500 basic units. The decree also provides significant tax benefits for enterprises and organizations that will produce electric transport and car chargers. Those companies that already have such chargers on their balance sheets will also be exempt from VAT".

The signed decree will also have a positive impact on the environment, and whatever the economic difficulties are, the environmental, safety and health issues are most important for the country. In addition, Belarus, whose subsoil is not rich in hydrocarbons, seeks to develop alternative energy. And in the near future there will be a lot of electricity in the country, because a nuclear power plant is being built. So electric car owners don't have to think about fuel costs.
