Belarus and Qatar discuss trade, economic and investment relations

On January 22, Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Shestakov held a number of bilateral meetings during the visit of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry delegation to the State of Qatar. They were focused on the elaboration of practical steps to reactivate the whole range of trade, economic and investment relations between Minsk and Doha. The sides held substantive talks with Minister of State, Chairman of the Board of the Free Trade Zone Agency of the State of Qatar Ahmad Al-Sayed, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of Qatar Hamad Ahmad Al-Mulla, Acting Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Qatar Saleh Majid Al-Khuleifi, and the leadership of the Qatar Financial Center. The parties discussed the issues of increasing mutual trade turnover and priority steps to identify promising areas of cooperation.

In addition, Evgeny Shestakov held meetings with Badr Omar Ismail Al Dafa, Special Representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar for Climate and Sustainable Development, Mohammed Ali Al Khouri, Secretary General of Doha Expo 2023, and familiarized himself with the work of the exhibition and national pavilions of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Italy and Kyrgyzstan.
