Sustainable peace in the Middle East is an important basis for economic development, a factor of long-term stability of the states of the entire region. This was stated by Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Aleinik at the meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter in Uganda.
According to him, the conflict in the region should be resolved on the international legal basis by implementing the principle of "states for peoples. The parties should reach a historical compromise. In addition to the situation in the Middle East, the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the Western sanctions imposed on the republic. Belarus and its associates will continue to work to counteract the policy of pressure and coercion, said Aleinik.
