The system of identification and traceability of animal products was developed by the Academy of Sciences, and started work at full capacity in January 2016, and since July 1 st this year has been integrated with the Russian information system "Mercury".

Belarus is one of the first countries in the world at the legislative level to establish the relationship of the food chain: from the animal to product.

Absolutely all products are supplied with traceability elements to raw materials. The quality of each link is already controlled by the AITS information system. We took into account all the traditions of animal husbandry, the norms of national legislation, world standards.

Everything is fixed: the place of birth, movement (to the exhibition, sale or slaughter), veterinary, preventive, therapeutic measures, restrictions on meat or milk during the period.

Structurally AITS consists of three interconnected subsystems. The first controls the animals, the second a product of animal origin, the third provides veterinary safety.

Natalya Babachenok, Chief Veterinary Officer of the Brest Meat Processing Plant: "This is a republican system. The point is that all the cattle be taken into account, the animals are taken into account. The identification number helps in identifying. Ie, the animal receives a number in the farm, and we confirmed that this animal came to us for slaughter."

Marking and special bar code labels are applied to the carcass. This allows you to see when and from what farm a cow was brought to the meat processing plant, the variety and weight of the carcass, the expiration dates.

Brest meat processing plant processes over 2500 tons of meat per month and produces more than 4000 tons of sausages. 40% of products are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Jordan, Vietnam.

The company has created its own electronic accounting system associated with the general database AITS.
