Jon Ola Sand, the Executive Supervisor of Junior Eurovision, is paying a working visit to Belarus today. A number of meetings with his participation took place in preparation for the international children's song contest Eurovision-2018, which will be held in Minsk this year.

In the morning, Jon Ola Sand met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Vasily Zharko.

After that, the executive supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest visited the sports complex Minsk-Arena, which is considered as one of the venues for the current song forum.

Further, Jon Ola Sand visited the media holding and met with BTRC Chairman Gennady Davydko, heads of departments and the creative team of the Junior Eurovision 2018.

"BTRC started to prepare for the Junior Eurovision 2018 last year, but the competition leader came to visit us for the first time. Today we discussed the agreement that will be signed by the European Broadcasting Union and our media holding, as well as financial, organizational and creative questions. This is the first offsite meeting, but in the future such visits will become more regular. For example, in February, we will be visited by the representatives of the supervisory board of Eurovision: they are the heads of delegations of six participating countries and the EBU leadership, with whom we will discuss in detail the organization of the finals of the children's song forum," Belteleradiocompany Deputy Chairman Ivan Eismont said.

More details about Jon Ola Sand’s visit to Minsk will be covered today in the News and Panorama on Belarus 1.

The international children's song contest Eurovision-2018 will be held in Belarus in November. The National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus acts as the organizer and coordinator of all events of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest-2018 as the only member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in our country.
