50-th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus-Russia Union held in Minsk
Belarus' capital Minsk is hosting today the jubilee 50-th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus-Russia Union. Partaking in it are members of the Parliamentary assembly, representatives of the Permanent committee of the Union state, ministries and agencies of the two countries. They will discuss the results of the 20-year work, as well as consider implementation of the main avenues and tasks for further development of the Belarus-Russia Union state. We remind you, the first session of the Parliamentary assembly of Belarus-Russia Union was held in Smolensk (Russia) in 1996.
Central Election committee of Belarus launched a special information resource dedicated to the Parliamentary election
A special information resource dedicated to the Parliamentary election has been launched Belarus. The main events of the campaign will be covered there. Head of the Central Election committee Lydia Yermoshina will inform the voters on the latest news. We remind you, that the parliament candidates will be registered from July 3-rd to August 1st. The ballot stations have to be formed before the 9-th of July. The Central Election committee web-page will feature an interactive map of the constituencies. The results of the election to the Lower house of the Belarusian parliament will be summed up before mid September. According to the Presidential decree, the election will be held on September, 11-th.
Graduate proms start in Belarus
Graduate proms start in Belarus. This year, more than 57 thousand youngsters graduate from high schools. As the tradition has it, taking part in the proms will be representatives of legislative and executive powers, public associations, patron organizations. In connection with the graduate proms, public order control is strengthened. Police officers will be on duty at the festivities. In addition, alcoholic beverages are not on sale throughout the country today.
