The 2017 Eurovision national selection final will take place on 20 January to be broadcast live on the TV channel Belarus 1 and the international satellite channel Belarus 24.

The 2017 Eurovision national selection final will take place on 20 January to be broadcast live on the TV channel Belarus 1 and the international satellite channel Belarus 24.

Belarus’ official representative at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest will be selected by the viewers and a professional jury according to the classic 50x50 formula during the broadcast of the final show.

The jury consists of musician, Honoured Artist of the Belarusian SSR, member of the vocal and instrumental ensemble Pesnyary and soloist of the Belarusian Pesnyary ensemble Valery Daineko (Jury Chairman); Deputy Director of the Main Directorate of the TV channel Belarus 1 Olga Salamakha; Head of the radio station Radius FM Elena Treshchinskaya; Editor in chief of the channel BelMuz TV Alexander Kapenkin; producer, TV presenter, Director of the radio station Novoe Radio Vladimir Bogdan; singer and vocal coach Lyudmila Kutz; Chief Specialist of the Concert and Festival Project Department of the Arts Directorate at the Belarusian Culture Ministry Inna Mardusevich.

The national selection winner will traditionally be presented a special award - a stylised Eurovision heart. The winner and finalists will receive prizes and gifts from the project sponsors Glassworks Neman and Vitex.

The final show will start at 22:00 to be broadcast live from the 600m studio on the TV channels Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 and on Belteleradiocompany’s website tvr.by. The concert will also be broadcast live on Radius FM.

The performances of each of the 13 contestants will be preceded by video presentations based on Belarusian ornament symbols, such as Earth, Wealth, Ancestors, Sun, etc.

The finalists will be waiting for voting results in the Green Room.

The national selection and further preparations of Belarus’ representative for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest are organised by Belteleradiocompany as the only European Broadcasting Union member in Belarus.

The 62nd Eurovision Song Contest will take in Kiev (Ukraine) from 9 to 13 May.
