On 14 May 2017, Belteleradiocompany, together with Minsk City Executive Committee, will hold a patriotic event - Glory to the Blessed Name of our Land! - in the National Flag Square, Minsk. The event is timed to celebrate the Day of the State Emblem and the National Flag of the Republic of Belarus.
The winners of the patriotic contest Glory to the Blessed Name of our Land! will be the main participants of the event. The contest was held from September 2016 to 1 March 2017 by the First National Channel of Belarusian Radio. The competition aimed at promoting the state symbols, fostering deep respect for the heroic past and culture of the Belarusian people, as well as nurturing love for the Motherland and pride in its achievements.
All in all, the project accepted 53 applications in 3 nominations - the choral performance, the ensemble performance, and the solo performance. Among the participants are representatives of all regions of Belarus, servicemen and cadets, students of secondary and higher educational establishments, professional and amateur music groups - about 1,700 people. Live auditions took place in the Big Studio of the Radio House. The contestants were judged by a professional jury chaired by Vladimir Karizna, the Belarusian poet and State Prize laureate of Belarus.
The patriotic event will take place in the National Flag Square in Minsk on 14 May. It will feature poems and songs written by Belarusian authors about our Motherland. The event is scheduled to start at 15.00.
The participants of the event will include the finalists of the project, as well as Irina Dorofeeva (the deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, and the member of the jury of the contest), soloists of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Belarus, People's Artist of Belarus Anastasia Moskvina, Honored Artist of Belarus Stanislav Trifonov, Anastasia Zhabko - the laureate of the International Contest of Young Performers at the Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk, Anna Stepankova - the soloist of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, as well as artists of the Youth Variety Theater, and many others.
The highlight of the patriotic event will be the State Anthem of Belarus sung jointly by all the participants. The vocal and instrumental accompaniment will be provided by the Honored Collective of the Republic of Belarus Academic Choir of Belteleradiocompany and the Belteleradiocompany Symphony Orchestra, which had previously recorded a reference version of the State Anthem.
Representatives of the public, culture, sports, and education will also take part in the event.
The fact that people of different ages and professional activities will gather together in the National Flag Square is meant to symbolize the unity of the Belarusian people in their love for the Motherland, the cohesion of the Belarusian society, the continuity of generations and the preservation of national traditions.
Belteleradiocompany’s General Producer Centre will record the event, create its TV version, that will be broadcast by the media holding’s channels.
