Belarus takes the 6th position at Eurovision 2008
The Belarusian participants took the 6th position at Junior Eurovision 2006, which took place in Limassol, Cyprus on November 22 and featured 15 countries.
At Junior Eurovision Belarus was represented by trio: Darya Nadina, 12, Alina Molosh, 11, and Karina Zhukovich, 12. Dasha, Alina and Karina are students of Svetlana Statsenko, the renowned figure of the Belarusian culture, artistic director of Vladimir Mulyavin National Center of Music Arts. The song "Heart of Belarus" was composed by Darya Nadina.
This year both the jury and the audience took part in the selection of the winner. The performance of the Belarusians was assessed by the viewers at 86 points. The highest grades were given to Belarus by Russia and Belgium (10 points) and Malta and Serbia (7 points).
The Junior Eurovision 2008 was won by the Georgian trio "Bzikkebbi", who performed the composition "Bzzz". The leader of the last year's contest presented the Cup to the winners.
