The Belarusian International TV channel has fallen under the "Ukrainian sanctions". The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of the country has banned the broadcasting of the TV channel Belarus 24. The reason is that it allegedly broadcasts films with actors blacklisted by the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture. Among the programs, said to be "threatening the national security" of Ukraine, was even an issue dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Belarusian band Pesnyary, because of the participation of Russian singer Olga Kormukhina in it.

The Belarusian Union of Journalists strongly protested against the closure of the TV channel and media censorship and pointed to the glorification of Nazi practices in the public and media space of Ukraine.

Prior to that, three popular Ukrainian TV channels were closed down in a similarly procedure, and their broadcasting on social networks and hosting sites was severely restricted.
