The fight against history continues in Ukraine: the Soviet Obelisk of Glory memorial was torn down in the city of Pustomyty, Lvov Region. And in Kharkov, a historical figure from the distant past, Alexander Nevsky, was declared unwanted. The monument, which stood in the Saltovka District, was broken off its pedestal by a truck, damaging a commemorative plaque at the same time. By the way, the sculpture was put already in non-independent Ukraine, in 2004.

Lithuania gets rid of the historical heritage. The obelisk in memory of the Soviet soldiers who died during the World War II was dismantled in Palanga. The corresponding statement was made by the mayor of the city, who added that demolition of the obelisk has passed according to the legislation. In April, the authorities changed the criteria for selecting and determining the level of significance of monuments, according to which memorials were protected by the law on heritage. In fact, it is now legal to demolish the unwanted monuments.
