Lithuania wanted to show its character, but it failed again. What was decided on transit to Kaliningrad?

Lithuanian leader Gitanas Nauseda, who threatened not to make any concessions on the transit of sanctioned goods to Russia, appears to be making the concessions his superiors demanded.

"Out of respect for transatlantic unity," was Lithuania's explanation for agreeing to the European Commission's recommendations on Kaliningrad transit. The country's Prime Minister noted that the current transit order would remain in place until the new rules.

As a reminder, the European Commission published a clarification of the anti-Russian sanctions, according to which transit to Kaliningrad by road remains prohibited, while the transit by rail is allowed with proper control.
