Lithuania has to use most expensive power in Baltic States

28 марта 2021
The refusal of Vilnius to use the power from the Belarusian nuclear power plant hit the pockets of Lithuanians. Last week the wholesale power price in Lithuania rose by 14% up to 52.3 euros cents per megawatt-hour. At the same time the price has not changed in Latvia and Estonia. The reason for the price growth is the reduction of electricity imports from Sweden, where the price has also risen due to the fall in production levels and increased consumption. Meanwhile, Vilnius continues the process of withdrawal from the BRELL energy ring and boycott of BelNPP power.
