Orthodox Christians worldwide celebrate Christmas

The Christmas celebrations of Orthodox believers began in Bethlehem the previous afternoon. Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem led pilgrims to the Church of the Nativity, where he conducted a festive service. A colorful parade concluded the procession of the festive column.

The Orthodox Christians worldwide celebrated the luminous holiday. In Russia, the main solemn service was performed by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill. The Russian Orthodox community is the largest on the planet, and the celebration of Christmas is truly universal.

The holiday of Christmas was widely celebrated in all Orthodox countries. The worship services were held in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Romania. The large Coptic Orthodox community celebrated Christmas in Egypt. In total, this holiday is one of the major celebrations of the year for more than 100 million people.
