Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to officially publish the updated text of the Constitution with amendments on new regions. The corresponding decree was published on October 5, TASS writes.
It was required to do so in view of the accession of the DNR, LNR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to Russia.
The corresponding treaties have been signed with the heads of the four regions on September 30, and within the next few days these documents were approved by the Russian Constitutional Court and went to the Parliament, where they were ratified.
Along with the treaties, the State Duma and the Council of Federation considered federal constitutional laws on the admission of the four regions into the Russian Federation. These documents were later approved by the President.
Then, according to the procedure, amendments should be made to Article 65 of the Russian Constitution, which contains a list of constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The number of Russian regions is now increased from 85 to 89. The text of the amended Constitution is to be published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
