Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the participants of the 19th All-Russian Congress of Commissioners for Children's Rights in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, noting that special attention should be paid to preserving the lives and health of children in the four new regions of the country, RIA Novosti reported.

In his greeting, Putin noted that the participants will have to discuss a wide range of issues of state policy in the field of protection of family, motherhood, and childhood, on which the reliable protection of the rights and interests of the younger generation depends, as well as the creation of conditions for their development.

"Today it is necessary to respond promptly to the infringement of children's rights, to work out additional measures to support children with disabilities and, of course, special attention should be paid to protecting the lives and health of children in the Donbass republics, in Kherson and in Zaporozhye. It is important to establish clear cooperation with local administrations, to control the timely provision of medical and psychological assistance to those in need," said the President, whose greeting was voiced by Ombudsman for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova.
