Building a generally accessible and effective health care system is a key priority of Belarus’ state policy, as stated in the address of the President of Belarus, presented at a meeting of the UN General Assembly on Ending AIDS. The event took place yesterday in the UN Headquarters in New York. Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Andrei Dapkiunas addressed the meeting on behalf of the Belarusian President.

“The health of the nation is the key to its sustainable development and prosperity. Therefore, the most important thing in Belarus’ national policy is support to the family built on traditional values”, the statement says.

The Belarusian side once again reiterated the desire to ensure the implementation of the UNAIDS 90-90-90 Strategy in the near future, as well as of one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - to put an end to the HIV/AIDS epidemic by 2030.
