Latvia has not stopped at banning Russian TV programs: the Latvian parliament considered a bill on persecution for distribution of forbidden TV channels. For the first time this crime will be punished with a fine of up to 700 euros for an individual and 14,000 euros for a legal entity. And even the publication of the program in the media or even a TV schedule left on a coffee table in a hotel lobby is prohibited. The deputies explain the severity of the bill as follows: information about the schedule of banned programs takes the reader away from other publications and provokes citizens to violate the law.
