Ukrainian Armed Forces shell Donetsk with monstrous intensity - Ksenia Lebedeva reports live

15 июня 2022

The residents of Donbass know better than anyone else, how Kiev disposes of weapons. The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled Donetsk this week with monstrous intensity: about 200 shells were fired at the city. ATN correspondent Ksenia Lebedeva was on the ground. Watch her exclusive report.

Ukrainian Armed Forces hit Donetsk

June 13, 2022. The Ukrainian Armed Forces resumed shelling three districts of Donetsk:  Kievsky, Kuibyshevsky and Voroshilovsky. Social facilities were hit. In particular, one of the hospitals in the capital of Donbass was set on fire.

We are hiding, we had to hide in one of the garages. The guys who accompany us say that not only that hospital, but also the Ministry of Internal Affairs building is not far from this place. There is no denying that the UAF makes targeted hits.

Broken windows of residential houses, damaged trees - these are just some of the consequences. 86 missiles from the Grad system, 14 missiles from the Uragan system, 32 shells of NATO artillery of 155 mm caliber - and this is not all that Zelensky's army "pleased" the residents of Donetsk with. About 200 shells in total. There are fatalities among the civilian population.

In the afternoon, one of the missiles was fired at a local market. A mother and her child were killed.

During shelling, people open entrances to the houses so that people on the street could hide unhindered. Thus, a woman has treated us to some juice.

A resident of Donetsk:

Yesterday, there was such a shot that my balcony collapsed. It ripped out all the window glasses. There's a hole, a hole. This is nightmare.

- But lately, it's been quiet compared to today.

- Yes, yes, quieter.

A piece of a Grad shell. It is very difficult not to believe that the Ukrainian army deliberately shells maternities, orphanages, hospitals and schools, when I myself saw a direct hit right on the roof. Women stand in the windows of the maternity hospital at a loss. They wonder, if it's possible to go up to the 5th floor. I answer, that they‘d rather not yet.

Judging by the fortifications outside the windows of the maternity hospital in Donetsk, women are already used to this and are ready to give birth even under shelling.

We go down to the safest place in the high-rise maternity hospital building - the basement.

 Correspondent asking a woman:

- How far along are you?

 - I'm seven months pregnant, I'm going to have twins. The events are about to finish here. Donetsk has been shelled for eight years.

 - Isn't it scary to have children at a time like this?

  - What can I do? There's no other way out.

- How far along are you?

A young woman answers:

- 36 weeks.

- Who are you expecting?

- A boy.

- When was he born?

- On May 9.

- The Victory Day?

- Yes. The Victory Day.

- How do you feel?

- I have to be on the positive side. The main thing is that the kids are with us, everything is good.

The positivity of these women, their bravery and courage can be envied. For, when their compatriots die, they give new life to the world.
