The Ukrainian leadership seeks to embroil NATO into a direct confrontation with Russia, RIA Novosti reported, citing an article in the German newspaper FAZ.

According to the author of the article, Thomas Gutschker, another proof of this fact was the willingness of the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and his deputy Andrei Melnik to shift the blame for the missile incident in Poland onto Russia.

"Zelensky, Kuleba, and Melnik failed to pass the distress tolerance and sound judgment test. All three immediately issued a statement that Russian-made missiles had struck Poland. Zielensky insisted on a retaliatory strike against Russia for collective security purposes, Kuleba was trying to dismiss all doubts about a targeted Russian attack, calling them "conspiracy theories," and Melnik called on the alliance to take heavy-handed action," the publication said.
