Meta blocks accounts of unwanted users

No posts, publications, likes and subscriptions. The social network Instagram has been blocked throughout Russia since March 14. Russian authorities restricted access to the network because of calls to commit violent acts against Russians, including military personnel. However, Russia has its own competitive Internet platforms, including VKontakte and Odnoklassniki. Incidentally, since the beginning of March there has been a record growth in user registrations at Odnoklassniki: 66%.

Attacks on dissenters in the West

The US company Meta started dealing with the users it doesn’t like. Italian MEP Francesca Donato said Facebook blocked her account after she voted against a resolution on anti-Russian sanctions. "A heavy attack has begun against me. Draw conclusions," the MEP urged. This is how a democratically elected parliamentarian is silenced.

The China Global Times, on behalf of the entire editorial board, asks a fair question: If Facebook and Instagram allowed calls to kill Russians, then it turns out that calls to kill U.S. citizens by Afghans and Iraqis and many others should also be allowed?
