If NATO sends its peacekeepers to Ukraine, it will mean a direct clash between the armed forces of Russia and the alliance. This was reminded by the Russian Foreign Minister. Sergey Lavrov noted that Moscow is not against the Western countries mediation in the negotiations with Ukraine, but Russia has clear red lines.
Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister:
Our Polish counterparts have already declared that they are going to discuss peacekeeping mission at the NATO summit. I hope they understand what they are talking about. This will be the direct clash between Russian and NATO forces that everyone has said should never take place. The Polish representatives are known for their unconventional moves aimed at provoking more trouble. I don't rule out that when they talk about peacekeepers, they mean their border, the west of Ukraine. Maybe they want to introduce peacekeepers, make their headquarters in Lvov and then stay there. They had such thoughts floating around. It happened in the past.
The politician pointed out that the whole world has received the command "Attack!" to infringe and destroy everything Russian.
