The Latvian Foreign Minister said he was working "on joint and coordinated actions within NATO and the EU to prevent threats to Latvia and its allies. The Baltic state began military exercises near the border with our country that were not announced earlier. About 3 thousand military personnel are involved. According to preliminary data the maneuvers will last until December 12.
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister said that Warsaw was discussing with Lithuania and Latvia the 4th article of the NATO treaty. The clause provides for the possibility of convening the Council of the military bloc, if one of the member states believes that its security is threatened.
