Kiev includes SPD leader Rolf Mützenich on "terrorist list" for cease-fire calls

The leader of the SPD parliamentary faction, Rolf Mützenich, said that the Ukrainian government had put him on a "terrorist list" because he advocated a cease-fire and the possibility of further diplomatic steps.

"I was annoyed that the Ukrainian government put me on the terrorist list on the grounds that I advocated a ceasefire or the possibility of further diplomatic steps through local ceasefires," Mützenich said at an SPD debate in Berlin on Saturday. He was quoted by the German news agency dpa.

Mützenich said that if a commitment to a cease-fire is a criterion for such a list, then UN Secretary-General António Guterres should also be included. He also said that those who, like himself, advocate diplomacy with regard to the conflict in Ukraine are being subjected to discrimination.

The politician accused his party's government coalition partners, the Greens and the FDP, of such discrimination.
