How Mariupol plans to develop further

Denis Pushilin, head of the DNR:

“As for Mariupol itself, there are already clear plans for us. We have the city divided into districts, and each district is now assigned to a subject of the Russian Federation. St. Petersburg that took patronage over  Oktyabrsky District, Tula and Moscow will develop other districts.  In fact, for us it is clear that we need to make a priority list, i.e. it is necessary to restore housing and the city as a whole. In fact, the number one task and goal is to make the city better than before the war. As for interaction with Belarus, we have certain business contacts. Products are supplied from Belarus, products are also supplied to Belarus. But, probably, not in the volumes which could satisfy the market of Belarus and Donbass.”

Points of contact between Belarus and Donbass: business and industry

Denis Pushilin, head of the DNR:

“This is agriculture in the first place. We are interested in those technologies, in those opportunities that Belarus has. If we talk about the supply of fertilizers, we are also interested. There are also certain points of contact when it comes to metallurgy and coal products. We are also interested in the equipment, including that of MAZ. We also need tractors, excavators and so on.”

Denis Pushilin, head of the DNR:

“The majority of infrastructural facilities and buildings required overhaul. Alas, this did not happen. Many things have not happened since Soviet times. Now that we are facing the full restoration of the cities, we share the program: we restore something based on the destruction brought by the war, and something based on the period of limitation.”
