Italy celebrates Republic Day, one of the main national holidays established in connection with the transformation of the country from a monarchy to a republic. In 1946 Italy abolished the royal rule due to the fact that it had compromised itself during the reign of Mussolini and during the war. The President of Belarus sent his greetings to the people of Italy. Alexander Lukashenko noted that neither politicians' ambitions nor geopolitical confrontation can destroy the friendship between our countries. The Head of the State expressed his profound gratitude to the Italians who have hosted Belarusian children for many decades and supported our country in every possible way.
