Iran expands sanctions against US for violation of human rights

Iran imposed sanctions on ten individuals and four organizations in the U.S., including the CIA and the National Guard, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported.

Among the individuals affected by the sanctions are Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo, commander of U.S. CENTCOM General Michael Kurilla, Deputy National Security Adviser to the U.S. President Anne Newberger and Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson.

Iran says the sanctions were imposed because of the U.S. interference in its internal affairs, violation of human rights, incitement to unrest, propaganda of violence, and encouragement of terrorist activities.
