Gazprom head says European cities risk literally freezing to death

12 октября 2022

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said today that a number of European cities could literally freeze to death, if the EU authorities remain committed to their current energy strategy.  For a catastrophe to happen, a severe cold snap would be sufficient, even for a short period of time.  Overall, Miller believes that the EU will survive the winter, but at a high cost to most EU member states. Current reserves will most likely not be sufficient for the entire period of cold weather. Avoiding difficulties would be easy by not to break off relations with Gazprom. However, the Europeans are busy discussing the gas price ceiling instead of building a partnership.
